Some Remixes + Listen to Sam Smith's debut EP 'Nirvana'

It's been awhile since I posted a handful of remixes that I can't seem to stray away from, but guess what - here they are.
I've been a huge fan of the mysterious Baardsen's previous remixes for artists such as Grimes & Dan Croll, so when I found out "Biggy" by Warpaint was the latest project - I didn't waste time in looking it up. Smooth and synth-y, just how I like it. Listen to the original here
The last track on Panama's debut Always EP is a pleasant remix from Sydney duo Cosmo's Midnight. Listen to the entire EP on Spotify here
Not only are The 1975 amazing at making music, but their ability to remix practically anyone else's music seems like a walk in the park. Ever since James Vincent McMorrow released his sophomore album Post Tropical, I haven't gone a day without listening to it. This is a dreamy remix that flows just as well as the original. Check it out!

Michael David & Tyler Blake aka Classixx transformed "Is This How You Feel?" by Sydney five-piece The Preatures into one of the grooviest tracks my ears have ever heard. Another Classixx remix you should check out is of Panama's "Always."
P.S. Catch both The Preatures & LA duo Classixx at this year's Coachella

Today Sam Smith's debut EP Nirvana was released in the US & boy is it a keeper! Listen above via Spotify and you'll find a variety of material including his acoustic version of "Latch." Sam Smith is definitely on my list of must-see artists of 2014 after hearing nothing but great things about his two-day residency at Troubadour in West Hollywood.

LYED 2014 Playlist + Free DL's from Rae Morris & Scenic!

It's that time again...!
I recently started this playlist after stumbling across brand new tunes from both Wild Beasts & Silversun Pickups. The cool thing about this particular playlist is that it will be updated/refreshed constantly throughout the year, so if you're deciding on a playlist to follow on Spotify - this is the one for you!

Last week I mentioned the vocalist on Bombay Bicycle Club's most recent gem "Luna" was the talented Rae Morris. Listen to her latest song "Skin" above, and by the way- it's available as a free download!
Scenic is a quartet from Perth that I haven't heard much about until now, but "Ride The Thrill" has me excited for whats to come! P.S. It's also featured on the playlist above.

Albums I'm Excited About: Bombay Bicycle Club & Phantogram

A new year means new albums to get excited about & there are several that I'm really looking forward to owning (on vinyl of course.) The first two up on my list are Phantogram's long-awaited sophomore album Voices & Bombay Bicycle Club's So Long, See You Tomorrow.

Phantogram- "Nothing But Trouble"
After seeing Phantogram twice in the span of two months back in 2011 - I had no idea it would take almost 2 years until I would see them perform live again. After releasing their self-titled EP back in September, they've been able to slowly but surely drop songs from their unreleased album titled Voices due out February 18th via Republic Records. Everything they've released so far has been nothing short of amazing, and this album is going to be pure gold if the rest follow in this path.
I was kind of surprised to not see Phantogram on the Coachella lineup, but have no fear -they're playing a handful of shows in California next month!

2/20 - Oakland, CA @ Fox Theater - Oakland
2/21 - Sacramento, CA @ Ace Of Spades
2/22 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Hollywood Palladium
2/23 - Ventura, CA @ The Majestic Ventura Theater

P.S if you pre-order Voices on iTunes now, you'll receive an instant download of "Fall In Love" click here to do so!
Here's the 3rd release from So Long, See You Tomorrow due out February 4th. In case you were wondering, the female vocalist in this song is Rae Morris, who supported BBC on a previous tour. Get to know her music via SoundCloud, I recommend it. I don't think anyone understands how excited I am to finally see BBC on the Coachella bill. In addition to Coachella they will be touring the US starting in Sacramento on April 11th!

LYED Guest Mixtape

Heyyy you guys, it's been awhile. Here's a mix I received awhile back that I've been meaning to share with y'all! Ethan Maffey, a music editor for The Source Weekly (located in Bend, Oregon) created it and I couldn't dig the selection more. Among the 13 different artists in the playlist you'll find Mesita, who was featured as a Friday Fascination back in November. Also, I was recently introduced to Mother Falcon and they're on the list as well! If you're a fan of Beirut or Ra Ra Riot's earlier stuff - you should definitely check Mother Falcon out! Closing out the playlist is "Barely Love You Too" by Frank + Derol a duo from LA.. oh yeah, did I mention Miley's older sister is one of the two? I might be obsessed.. Anyways, take a listen below & let me know if you have a favorite from the list!
P.S. Ethan was kind enough to include LYED's 3 year-end posts all in one spot along with a handful of other exciting lists! Feel free to check it out here
I'm all about exchanging music, so if you have a song or playlist you'd like to share with LYED - send an e-mail to letyourearsdecide@gmail.com & I'd love to check it out! Maybe you'll see it on here too! :)
