Friday Fascination: Cayucas

Ever tried to search for the perfect, quintessential summer song? Well, I’ve got the quintessential summer album to share with all of you. Cayucas are truly a Friday Fascination. I urge you all to kick off your weekend with their surf rock breezy tune ‘Cayucos’

‘Cayucos’ - Cayucas

Cayucas hail from Santa Monica, California, whose sun soaked sound will leave you craving summer. I had the pleasure of seeing them live in Santa Barbara at the lovely Velvet Jones a few months back before the release of their debut album ‘Bigfoot.’ They opened for another great LA band called Races and left us all wanting more.

The band includes two brothers, Zach and Ben Yudin (who seriously are identical, I can’t help but think they are twins) Christian Koons, Banah Winn and Casey Wojtalewicz. Since the release of their album in late April, Cayucas have toured all over Europe, including an appearance at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound 2013.

They’re a new band that’s quickly stepping onto the scene thanks to their incredible album. After listening to it in full, you’ll find that it’s a bit nostalgic at times, making you think and yearn for previous summer days and nights.

You can listen to their album ‘Bigfoot’ on Spotify or Rdio, and if you like what you hear – definitely give them a friendly purchase over at iTunes, you won’t regret it!
