FRESHVIBESMONDAY #82

Okay, so I might be slightly obsessed with the latest from Wild Ones (who just so happened to be last week's Friday Fascination.) This photo was taken on a moody day, so it just fits - but this isn't to say that the rest of the playlist follows suit.
As always, hope you dig it as much as I do.

By the way, you can always stalk follow Let Your Ears Decide over on SoundCloud for more updates/reposts/you get it.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #81

*insert hearts for eyes emoji*
Is it just me or is each week getting better and better with the new releases?
We're nearly at the halfway mark of the year, and looking back over all of the FVM playlists has me believing this year is already winning. Next week's FVM will be a special one, can you guess what will be on it?

P.S. Did you see Sasha's coverage of Funk at the (Santa Barbara) Bowl from last week? Have no fear, you can get the 411 here

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #80

Since it is the first day of the month, hopefully you started your morning by repeating the words “rabbit rabbit” because it will give you good luck for the rest of the month or something cliche like that. My morning, on the other hand started off with more of a “oh sh*t I am going to miss my flight back to Santa Barbara if I don’t get my life together ASAP." Ah, oh how I love Mondays.
If you didn’t already hear/see, Jenny Lewis released a music video last week for one of my favorite tracks “She’s Not Me” from last year's One Of The Guys (spoiler alert: it features Shosh from GIRLS & Fred Armisen to name a few.) If you followed Lewis on Instagram, you'd agree that we've be waiting for this video for a hot minute now.
Just as important, Beirut announced his return with No No No and released the title track for the record this morning (album is due out 9/11/15 via 4AD.)
On the other end of the media spectrum, say hello to Caitlyn Jenner & goodbye to the name Bruce. Caitlyn is on the latest cover of Vanity Fair, and all I have to say is -
YOU GO GIRL.
Alright, alright, back to the music - this week’s edition of FVM which kicks off with new tunes from Tear CouncilBLOOMS, Scavenger Hunt, this month's release from Oh Wonder, that ever-so-catchy Flume song featuring Andrew Wyatt from Miike Snow, and so much more
P.S. Did you know that Panama was last week’s Friday Fascination? "Jungle" was released early Friday morning and there was no way I could get it out of my head, be sure to visit the post to watch the music video they made for it.

GET READY TO CUDDLE UP WITH THIS WEEK'S PLAYLIST BECAUSE IT'S BOUND TO WARM YOUR MIND UP WHILE YOU'RE STILL GETTING OVER THOSE REGRETS FROM THE WEEKEND. Hope you dig it <3 P.S. Take advantage of the new changes to the blog, especially with the updated social media links in LYED's "About Me."
 LOVE YOU, mean it.
Question that I'm shooting out those who are active listeners (because there's quite a few of you, would you rather us cut the chase and only post FVM on SoundCloud? Let me know what you're feeling in the comments below!!
ICYMI: The Bad Years was LYED's most recent "Friday Fascination." Believe me, their new EP is something to get fascinated about. Dig in now

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #76

It's Monday night and I'm feeling equal parts alive & exhausted at the same time. So with that, I've attempted to scoop as many uppity gems as I could find, because sometimes you make last minute decisions on a Friday afternoon to hop on a plane and go to San Francisco for the weekend. This Monday hasn't been the brightest, but it's okay though - this is a big week for yours truly. To sum it up, I'll be leaving my job as a Visual for H&M, and heading down the street back to where it all started, Urban Outfitters! Onwards & upwards, right? So if you're ever in Santa Barbara, come say hey (and shop my blog's vinyl section while you're at it, hehe.)
Hope you guys dig this week's playlist, and through all of the craziness that's been taking place - expect to see LYED more in your face than usual. The last couple of posts have featured a couple individual finds that separately made my ears feel reaaal good. You know, the way music is supposed to make you feel.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #75

Happy Monday! As always, this week's playlist is rich in gems including the latest from Young Wonder, Gengahr, and Torres who each have records coming out very, very soon. I was recently introduced to "Calling Out" by indie-pop act Monakr from Chicago, and without hesitation added it to the playlist. In addition, Bay area newbies No Vacation & Hazel English caught my attention immediately upon first listen. These are definitely two bands I'm getting excited to watch as they grow. Although Hazel English only has one song exposed on SoundCloud, No Vacation has several including an album titled Amo XO.
Highlight of the playlist definitely goes to the silky vibes delivered by Leyya in "Superego."
Thanks to Ruth Radelet from CHROMATICS for letting me use the image above, if you didn't already know - they have an album coming out as well. Listen to their latest release "In Films" below.

P.S. An EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS to everyone who came out on Friday for the first ever We The Beat x Let Your Ears Decide show at Blind Tiger in Santa Barbara featuring JMSN, Olivver the Kid, and Harvey Leche! Your support means more than anything! xxxo

XXXO Hope everyone's recovered from Coachella!
Don't sleep on this playlist, it's almost too good to be true.
Keep your eyes open for some exciting posts taking place this week!

Don't forget this Friday is LYED's first show with We The Beat at Blind Tiger in Santa Barbara, Spread the word & see you there!!

So how about that Drake set?
Anyways, Happy Monday! The Monday after Coachella (weekend 1), is always a rough one where everyone and their brother feel like they were hit by a semi-truck. Or if you're one of the unlucky ones, you're feeling rested from a weekend spent at home, and now it's business time. Either way, here's a playlist to help you get through the drive home from the polo fields, and/or help wash away the Monday blues that always seem to creep up right around 9AM when you're waiting for the coffee to kick in.
Don't forget, JUDE. from Florida was last week's Friday Fascination. Check 'em out.

This also happened at Coachella, Clean Bandit x Marina and the Diamonds. What are your thoughts? I absolutely love this collab and can't wait to hear the studio version of it (and that would be.......?)

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #72

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Many of you have reached out with the same question and I'm here to tell you guys, I won't be at Coachella this year. *sobs* but I guess when you experience a quarter-life-crisis you start to realize your body might not be able to handle the 4579832 festivals you usually go to each year, so unfortunately i'm sitting this one out! That isn't to say that LYED will be refraining from posting about Coachella. ;) Stay tuned for what LYED's cooking up that might just save your life before you hit the desert this weekend.
Anyways, back to the music. I hope you guys dig this week's playlist of songs, because I know I definitely do.

Let Your Ears Decide finally has its own Instagram account, follow LYED here.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #70

Keep in mind LYED is a one-man wolf pack and I had needed to use yesterday as a day of rest rather than jump the gun on post-SXSW posts. Here we are 24 hours later, and I am back to my normal blogger self again (HURRAH!) What do I mean by that? It means I'm back to provide you with all things music related in which I know you'll appreciate listening to, whether it's through your headphones or car speakers. I had to kick off this week's selection with an all-time favorite introduction "feel good" track since this post is a wee bit on the later side of your Monday. Yes it's a couple months old, but honestly I can't think of a better opening track to this playlist. As always, I hope you dig this week's selection, and if you're still recovering from South By Southwest - there's a light at the end of the tunnel, I promise!

I'll save my SXSW experience for another post this week, but if you have Instagram, you can watch a brief summary via @_emiLYED. Feel free to follow! I had a great time at South By Southwest 2015, and was fortunate enough to meet a ton of individuals who shared the same love for music as I do. You'll have to just wait for the highlights that are coming soon. :)

P.S. I'm giving away Twin Shadow's new album Eclipse on White Colored Vinyl along with an autographed poster from the man himself.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #69

Snapped this image on my way to San Diego on Friday for CRSSD festival.
Not to take away from this week's playlist, but I had a great time at Day 1 of the 1st annual CRSSD Festival in San Diego this last weekend. Despite having to exist in a heatwave, I caught a handful of amazing acts and experienced both Giraffage & James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem) play in tents that were back-to-back at the same time. For a brief recap of highlights, visit the LYED Facebook page
Anyways, back to the music.
This playlist is one for the books, but can we please still talk about Tame Impala's nearly 8 minute track that's borderline flawless. Man have I missed that band. Upon first listen, take advice from the song title and just let the track happen. Last night The Preatures uploaded their entire album to SoundCloud, and "Cruel" is one of my favorite tracks ever so I definitely made room for it. Young Wonder keeps getting better & better with every release, and "Enchanted" is one of their most promising tracks yet. As always, keep a lookout for additions that take place until Wednesday night. Hope you dig this playlist as much as I do!
Which tracks did you dig/diss?

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #68

(photo credit: Sasha Huckoby, follow her on Instagram)
Make the most of your Monday with FVM#68. It's quite tasty if I do say so myself. "The Graduates" by Speedy Ortiz has been on repeat since they released it last week, during a hard time that Sadie is currently going through due to the loss of her father - so their internet presence may be a bit silent for the time being. I was lucky enough to meet Sadie last March when they played in Fort Worth after SXSW & it's hard to hear someone going through a tragedy like that. *sends positive thoughts your way*
I'm loving the new one from Chromatics (!!!) and it's quite nice to hear from Tanlines again. What's your favorite from this week's mix? Don't forget, this playlist grows until Wednesday night! :) So who knows what will be added onto this playlist within the next 48 hours.

ICYMI: Last week's Friday Fascination was NAVVI from Seattle, and also - FVM#67 a mix that remains as one of my favorites from this year so far.
Can't wait for you guys to see/read my SXSW Wish List for 2015 which drops tomorrow, can you guess who will be on it?
Here's my Wish List from 2014

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #67

New music from On An On, Oh Wonder, Lucy Rose, Swimm, Chelsea Lankes, and much more - what else could you ask for? So many fresh names in this week's selection, time to listen up y'all.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #66

Don't let this be "just another Monday" but instead, the Monday that gets you fueled for for what's to come. It's a bit of a mellow mix upfront, but don't let it get you down - we're just making it easy for you. Lots of unfamiliar names on this week's selection which means one thing - DISCOVERIES! Most of the above names I've barely listened to, and am so glad I finally got around to doing so (Gengahr, Pearls, GIRL FRIEND, Marian Hill, LEGS.) As always this playlist will grow, as I'm typing this out Sunday night, I am almost positive this playlist will double by Monday evening, so get those ears ready!

P.S. LET YOUR EARS DECIDE TURNS 3 YEARS OLD NEXT MONTH!
Lots of exciting stuff to celebrate on this awesome day of birth, head over to LYED on Facebook for the 411 on what will be taking place (hopefully you've *liked* the page already & spread the word about it ;D

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #64

Happy Monday! This week I'm kicking off FVM#64 with Rose Quartz, a band from Denver whom I saw the other night supporting Generationals. If you think the version above is great, just wait until you hear them live. Peep their tour dates here.  Also in the mix is Vallis Alps aka last week's Friday Fascination (and easily one of my favorite bands at the moments.)
What have you guys been listening to lately? Never hesitate to comment below with what bands you're currently digging or feel like recommending.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #63

HAPPY MONDAY!
Gems on gems on gems, definitely excited to see a lot of fresh names in the mix & especially Oh Wonder who are releasing a new original track each month. Doing the same is FMLYBND, who happened to be last week's Friday Fascination. This is a trend that I'm definitely a fan of. Now excuse me while I re-listen to Missy Elliott's entire discography.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #60

Happy Monday!! Hope everyone had an awesome weekend that involved nothing but relaxation and good tunes. If you had to work, you're not alone because I had to do the same! For this week's FVM I snuck a couple remixes into this playlist, because why the hell not? & honestly they were just too good to pass up or hold off until the next remix dedication post (which will be here shortly.) Also, I started off with a couple tunes that slipped by LYED within the last couple of months. All in all, this mixture is bound to help make this monday a little more tolerable.
Don't forget, if you've stumbled across something that's fitting for a freshvibesmonday playlist, shoot an e-mail to letyourearsdecide@gmail.com with the material! I'm always on the hunt for hearing new tunes!
