We The Beat x Let Your Ears Decide Presents: JMSN & Olivver

On April 24th JMSN will be kicking off another leg of his Deep Blue Tour, but this time only he's bringing LA native Olivver with him to take over Blind Tiger here in Santa Barbara. I couldn't be more excited about this show after I first heard of this pairing when JMSN announced his album release show back in December at The Echo. Both artists compliment each other quite well, and I had hoped to re-create this pairing one day, and now here we are! If you're not familiar with JMSN and/or Olivver, don't fret. Both singer-songwriters are beyond talented and separately make music that's often interpreted as a truly unique style that's catchy and get the feet moving. Don't miss out on this show, and tell (all of) your friends while you're at it. :) Allow your mind to wander and listen to both artists below.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #70

Keep in mind LYED is a one-man wolf pack and I had needed to use yesterday as a day of rest rather than jump the gun on post-SXSW posts. Here we are 24 hours later, and I am back to my normal blogger self again (HURRAH!) What do I mean by that? It means I'm back to provide you with all things music related in which I know you'll appreciate listening to, whether it's through your headphones or car speakers. I had to kick off this week's selection with an all-time favorite introduction "feel good" track since this post is a wee bit on the later side of your Monday. Yes it's a couple months old, but honestly I can't think of a better opening track to this playlist. As always, I hope you dig this week's selection, and if you're still recovering from South By Southwest - there's a light at the end of the tunnel, I promise!

I had a great time at South By Southwest 2015, and was fortunate enough to meet a ton of individuals who shared the same love for music as I do. Hope everyone had an awesome and safe holiday vacation! Or if you fall into the same shoes I'm wearing - what's a holiday? Life's been a little on the hectic side lately, but don't worry - supplying your ears with the freshest material is still a priority for LYED - the timing might just be a little off. 

Technically this Monday was the first day back for several of you, but have no fear - this week will be filled with smooth sailing thanks to yours truly sailing the ship. ;) I know I know, I think being apart of The Price is Right crowd earlier today made me even more cheesier than before. Enjoy the selection above, and as per usual - stick around because this playlist grows within the next day or two!

Hey you, welcome back for another week of freshvibesmonday, and as always - FVM is easily packed with some surprises and new releases. A few (of the many) highlights include the newest tune from NYC duo Yellerkin titled "Tools" which definitely takes you through a couple loops (and i'm not mad about it.) YACHT's forthcoming EP Where Does This Disco? is shaping to be a real treat with the latest release of "Works Like Magic." (Grab the EP on November 11th & for more information, visit Listen Hear.) 
Late last night (or should I say earlier this morning) SPLASHH released a second taste of their forthcoming album "Color It In." (If you've never had the chance to listen to their debut album Comfort, here you go.) Also, last week's Friday Fascination LANKS' "Brave Man" is an automatic staple for your Monday listening, and an even earlier Friday Fascination Olivver, has a new one "Keep It Sacred" that's on the mix as well. 

You're probably wondering why "Take It Slow" is on the mix because it was released earlier this year, but sadly I am just now hearing about LA four-piece Tapioca and the Flea (and i'm obsessed.) Earlier this week I made a visit to Boo Boo Records in San Luis Obispo, and of the free stuff they gave me - I received a 7" of the Red Bull Record Store Day release which features 4 emerging artists. I ended up with some pretty sweet records to say the least including the limited edition release of Interpol's El Pintor that was only available in select independent record stores, take a peek at the rest below.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #44

LYED has been a wee bit silent lately, but that's because I've been hopping all over the Golden State to catch the infamous Worlds Tour  (Porter Robinson, Giraffage, and Lemaitre.) Hands down this is one of the best live productions I've ever experienced and would see it again in a heartbeat. I can't stress enough how satisfying it is to witness an event such as this tour. (Get the 411 on the tour & tickets here.) I'll be uploading photos soon, or you can get a sneak peek over on LYED's Instagram! 

Super (duper) excited to let you guys know that LYED will be returning to Sacramento this year for TBD Fest October 3-5! With a lineup like this years, what's not to like about it? Hope to see you there! <3 If you haven't purchased your pass yet, head over here to snag them!

Friday Fascination: Olivver

Let me tell you about a friend of mine that likes to go by the name of Olivver. There's nothing I truly love more than getting the word out about someone who works harder than anyone I know. If this name is new to you, then here's your one-way ticket to getting hooked on the fella. It hasn't even been an entire year since he made his debut with "Purge" but already he's dominating the LA radio & blogs from all over the country. "Watch the physical and emotional purge below."

Not only is Olivver succeeding with releasing track after track, but is continuously keeping us on our toes in sight of what's next by establishing an empire of his many talents. Did I mention he has one of the best twitter accounts, ever?  
His most recent release "Not Going Home" is over on Hypem, and there's nothing better than showing love by "hearting it" by clicking here. It's off his upcoming debut EP Freak and I couldn't be more excited about this release. 

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #33

Time to unwind from your Manic Monday with this week's edition of FVM. A good friend of mine has been on a roll with releasing music under the moniker Olivver, and his latest "Lucy (Hurt People Hurt People)" has won my ears over as one of the best songs of the summer. It's been a minute since we've heard from White Arrows & Lemonade, so stumbling across these releases was a nice surprise. ICYMI: Wilsen was last week's "Friday Fascination" on the blog, and you can get the full scoop on the band here. & this definitely won't be the first or last time that you'll hear about the latest from Bondax & Ryn Weaver whom have both released stellar tracks that have been blowing up since day 1. 

In short, this entire playlist rules.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #27

Happy Cinco de Mayo! This week's edition of FVM features a rather large handful of tunes that I'm super excited to share with y'all. A few highlights of the playlist include the latest from Hooray For Earth who are about to release their first album since their studio debut True Loves. "Keys" is something to get excited about, and it hopefully won't be long until Racy is released. Also, Brighton five-piece Phoria just released a breezy track "Emanate" that I have no problem in admitting I've contributed a chunk to the amount of listens (the ending gets me every time.) "Unguarded" by Rae Morris is taken from her Do You Even Know? EP that comes out this week! It's a lovely song that captures her talent quite perfectly if you ask me. Also there are a handful of songs in this playlist that were recently added to the LYED 2014 Playlist over on Spotify. 

P.S. Once Olivver's "Attica '71" reaches 50,000 plays (which it probably will by the time you read this) it will become a free download (and that's definitely something worth taking advantage of because it's a solid summer gem.) If you haven't already, I suggest that you check out "Purge." It's part short film, part music video, and all around inspiring to witness. Definitely keep an eye out for this guy, he's going to be a game-changer.  Plus, his twitter is "pure gold."
