FRESHVIBESMONDAY #47

(Photo credit: Rachel Taylor, be sure to check out her Instagram account because it's filled with the best eye candy.)
I'm sooooo excited that October is finally here. Not only is this month filled with amazing releases from some of my favorite artists (such as Caribou, Ben Howard, Stars, and Cold War Kids.) These aren't the only ones, peep the entire list on Metacritic here!)

Also taking place this month is one of my favorite music festivals, Treasure Island in San Francisco! This year's lineup features Outkast, BANKS, Jungle, TV On The Radio, and several more over the span of two days (with zero sets overlapping.) In short, it's going to rule & you shouldn't miss out.

Around the same time as Treasure Island Music Festival, there is the New Noise Music Festival which takes place all throughout downtown Santa Barbara October 15-19! This year's lineup features a few of my favorite bands & a handful of SB's finest - FMLYBND, Mexico City Blondes, The Blues and Greys. For more information & tix - visit the New Noise website.

ICYMI: FVM#46 (posted last week) was a pretty solid playlist, so if you're still on the hunt for some new tunes check this playlist out.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #28

#FVM28 on a TUESDAY?! I know, I know (face falls immediately into palm) but maybe someday someone will grant my ongoing wish of making sure that there are more hours in the day.

Until then, dive into this week's playlist of fresh tunes from the past couple of days. Logging into SoundCloud this morning only to notice that Nero released their first proper track in quite some time was a sweet surprise to say the least.

I decided to wrap the playlist up with Seattle four-piece Tacocat because I can't get enough of their recent full-length NVM. (Give it a listen on Spotify here.) Catching them at Hardly Art's showcase at SXSW this year was a real treat, and you can watch their KEXP session by clicking here, which I highly advise you to do.

P.S. The magnificent Poliça from Minnesota will be releasing a deluxe edition of their sophomore album Shulamith which happened to be LYED's #1 album of 2013. Peep the link below thanks to Stereogum to hear more about the release as well as hear a new track "Raw Exit."
