FRESHVIBESMONDAY #44

LYED has been a wee bit silent lately, but that's because I've been hopping all over the Golden State to catch the infamous Worlds Tour  (Porter Robinson, Giraffage, and Lemaitre.) Hands down this is one of the best live productions I've ever experienced and would see it again in a heartbeat. I can't stress enough how satisfying it is to witness an event such as this tour. (Get the 411 on the tour & tickets here.) I'll be uploading photos soon, or you can get a sneak peek over on LYED's Instagram
Super (duper) excited to let you guys know that LYED will be returning to Sacramento this year for TBD Fest October 3-5! With a lineup like this years, what's not to like about it? Hope to see you there! <3 If you haven't purchased your pass yet, head over here to snag them!
Which day are you most excited about?

So. Much. Great. Stuff - I don't even know where to begin, but I will say one thing:
Have a great Monday.

FRESHVIBESMONDAY #32

23 songs for FVM#32 on the 23rd of June? You got it. Hope you dig this week's selection of remixes, original releases, and there's even a cover in there if you can spot it. It's been a minute since we've heard from Lucy Rose, and this may or may not be the most upbeat tune I've heard from her (FYI I LOVE IT.) She's not the only one who's been hiding away making new music, just take a look at the list and you'll know what I mean. It's a sweet preview of what's to come, and I couldn't be more excited about what Tennis, Mesita, Jessie Ware, and Zola Jesus have all dropped in the past week or so. I could go on, but you have quite a bit of listening to do. Enjoy!

LYED Guest Mixtape

Heyyy you guys, it's been awhile. Here's a mix I received awhile back that I've been meaning to share with y'all! Ethan Maffey, a music editor for The Source Weekly (located in Bend, Oregon) created it and I couldn't dig the selection more. Among the 13 different artists in the playlist you'll find Mesita, who was featured as a Friday Fascination back in November. Also, I was recently introduced to Mother Falcon and they're on the list as well! If you're a fan of Beirut or Ra Ra Riot's earlier stuff - you should definitely check Mother Falcon out! Closing out the playlist is "Barely Love You Too" by Frank + Derol a duo from LA.. oh yeah, did I mention Miley's older sister is one of the two? I might be obsessed.. Anyways, take a listen below & let me know if you have a favorite from the list!
P.S. Ethan was kind enough to include LYED's 3 year-end posts all in one spot along with a handful of other exciting lists! Feel free to check it out here
I'm all about exchanging music, so if you have a song or playlist you'd like to share with LYED - send an e-mail to letyourearsdecide@gmail.com & I'd love to check it out! Maybe you'll see it on here too! :)

Friday Fascination: Mesita

I'm starting to realize that when I'm not working or at a show, there's a pretty good chance I'm sitting in traffic somewhere. The other day while I was battling traffic on the 405 and listening to the Wild Belle channel on Spotify, I stumbled across a nifty little song called "No Future" by Mesita. I'm not sure if it was the rather appealing loop that started the song off or the way the tempo completely changes after a good 30 seconds that reeled me in. I had no idea who Mesita was, but I wasn't going to let this be the last I heard from this artist. Mesita is the solo project of 25-year-old American musician James Cooley from Denver, Colorado. "No Future" is the opening track on his sophomore album Future Proof, released 10/08/13. I'm definitely fascinated with the direction that this album goes, which is pretty much all over the place. The different influences help make this album exciting, and you'll find the same method in his debut full-length The Coyote (I recommend listening to "The Coyotes.")

Other favorites from this album include: "Forward" & "Creature."
Grab Future Proof & other music from Mesita on his BandCamp page by clicking here!
P.S. Stay tuned for next week's "Fresh Vibes Monday" post because one of the songs from Future Proof will be featured on there! Can you guess which one?
